My plan to net buy any new home improvement stuff until I've installed the stuff I already have backfired. I bought art instead. I bought a print and two paintings on Etsy.com. I also bought some new frames because when I hung some photos I printed out ages ago the frames I had bought were too cheap and cheesy. So now I will have more to hang and bought more frames than I have printed photos because I need to print out more current pics of the boys. So the no shopping thing is working out well.
My home is slowly transforming into the space I want it to be. Hanging a few pieces of art did wonders, hanging more than twice as many pieces again is awesome. I have to save some money for the fine art's fair in Geneva this summer. I think it's in July.
I haven't had official word on the new job, but I unofficially started doing it today. I'm now on loan to the testing group 75% of my time. As my other projects wrap up it will go to 100%. Now if HR would just push through the paperwork I'll be happy. Oh, and one of my new coworkers was described to me as a "punk rocker." Today I confirmed the description and he knows a guy I used to hang out with in high school. Actually, I hung out with some other guys in the band and he was there too.
Jeff was a skinhead asshole (in the punk ska tradition, not racist) and I thought he was the bee's knees. We kissed one night, but it didn't go anywhere. I wasn't drinking, but I think he was. He was smart, a prick and too cool. I don't think he was on either of the camping trips I took with those guys and those are the pictures I have of that group. My mom liked him because he looked clean. No amount of explanation could convince her that the Jim, with his long blond hippy hair, was a much nicer guy than any of the boys with shaven heads. Anyway, my new co-worker knows Jeff. Jeff's rock persona is Bobby Conn. Sasha keeps saying we should go to a show.
