I've decided to follow Joshua's example and institute an annual school supply shopping expedition. I *loved* shopping for school supplies. New school bag, new lunch box, new pencils, what's not to love? Whenever I pop into Office Depot to pick up one thing, I always end up buying new pens or post-its or paper.
Now I've seen the Yoda Plush Backpack at ThinkGeek and I want it.(via Melissa's Buzz Off) I had a gut reaction of joy and greed when I saw it. I have no need for a backpack, but when I saw this picture of it in action I fell for it. Can I extend the non-back-to-school shopping concept to include this bag? It's $40. Would I ever use it? It is my 37th birthday on Sunday, I could buy it for myself.
I better wait. When I'm this excited about something it is usually a passing passion. I wonder if my laptop would fit inside?
I think I'm to fat for this. It's one of those things that looks funky or cute on a regular or petite woman, but just sort of sad on a chubby girl. Okay, now I'm sort-of sad. Is it wrong to hope one of my sister's kids turns out geeky like me? Then I could buy cool stuff and live vicariously. Sigh.
I'm definitely going to Office Depot!
