Here are the rules. Set your iPod to Shuffle. List the first ten songs that play. No exceptions, no skipping. Today I inadvertently cheated.
The first "song" to come up was an iTrip track for setting the radio station. I tried to go back to check the words to write down (It is only a few seconds long) I hit it twice and ended at the Main Menu. There is no way to get back to the same shuffle. So I just hit Shuffle and started over. In case you really want to know, it was channel 91.9. The second track was from the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack.
Here is my second attempt at Random Music today:
- Theme For A Nude Beach - The B-52's (Bouncing Off The Satellites)
- Take Another Road - Jimmy Buffett (Meet Me In Margaritaville)
- Why? - Tracy Chapman (Tracy Chapman)
- Those Magic Changes - Sha-Na-Na (Grease Soundtrack)
- 977 - The Pretenders (Last Of The Independents)
- Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter - Herman's Hermits (Herman's Hermits)
- Ten Years Gone - Led Zeppelin (Physical Graffiti [Disc 2])
- Wishful Thinking - Wilco (A Ghost is Born)
- I'm Leaving It All Up To You - La Vern Baker & Ben E. King (Shag Soundtrack)
- You Can Leave Your Hat On - Tom Jones (Full Monty)
Soundtrack Frenzy - Yes, I have a lot of soundtracks. Always have. I have some real odd balls in my cassette collection. Electric Dreams comes to mind.
Favorite Tune - Theme For a Nude Beach is a perfect song for today. In the spring of my senior year in high school I drove my sister and Sasha to their after-school jobs. We would all sit in the front seat. We would sing along to this tune and they would play air keyboard on the dashboard. With the windows down and school over for the day, we felt as free as this song.
Favorite Album - Tracy Chapman. Love her. This is the first and has Fast Car. This album would be in the running for my top ten list.
Live - None.
First Listen - I've never heard Take Another Road before. I ripped the Jimmy Buffett from a borrowed CD. It wouldn't make any favorite playlist, but I like it.
For more lists, check out Marisa and her pals. Trackrick will probably post one too.
I was just talking with someone about Herman's Hermits over the weekend.
